Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has increased the compensation amount for deaths caused by wildlife attacks in the state from 6 lakh rupees to 10 lakh rupees.
Villages near forests often experience a higher incidence of wildlife attacks, leading to loss of life and property. Keeping this in view, the Chief Minister has enhanced the compensation amount for affected individuals.
As per the decision, in addition to the increased compensation for deaths, if a residential house is damaged, a house under the Antyodaya Housing Scheme or equivalent financial assistance will be provided. In case of damage to a kitchen, grain storage room, or cattle shed, a compassionate assistance amount of 3,000 rupees will be provided.
Similarly, if a concrete wall or compound wall is damaged, compassionate assistance of 5,000 rupees per meter, up to a maximum of 25,000 rupees, will be provided.
