Bhubaneswar: Odisha will appoint 5,248 MBBS doctors and 126 dentists this year to fill up the existing vacancies, state Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling told the Assembly on Monday. He said that the Public Service Commission has been asked to fill in these vacant posts this year.
The minister further informed that day care centers and chemotherapy facilities will be set up in all the district headquarters hospitals (DHH). In addition, there is a proposal to open satellite health centers in Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Jajpur and Boudh.
These satellite centers will have ten observation beds and 24-hour ambulance service will be provided on the campus to shift patients to the district headquarters hospitals.
