Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court will go into summer vacation starting from May 25. Since Saturday and Sunday are already non-working days, Friday (May 23) will be the last working day before the vacation, according to an official notification issued by the Court.
The High Court will reopen on June 22, 2026.During the summer recess, the High Court has made arrangements for 8 days of vacation benches to handle urgent matters. All vacation courts will function in virtual mode. The vacation benches will hear cases between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
As per the notification, a Division Bench comprising Justice KR Mohapatra and Justice MS Sahu will hear matters on May 26 and May 29. Additionally, single benches of these two judges will also function.
On June 2 and June 5, a Division Bench of Justice MS Sahu and Justice MS Raman will sit, along with their respective single benches.
On June 9, a Division Bench comprising Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra and Justice V. Narasingha will function. Single benches of Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, Justice V. Narasingha, Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy, and Justice Gouri Shankar Satapathy will also operate.
On June 12, 17, and 19, a Division Bench of Justice Sabitri Rath and Justice V Narasingh will hear cases. Single benches of Justice Sabitri Rath, Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, Justice V Narasingha, and Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy will also function.
This arrangement has been made to ensure that urgent matters are not delayed during the summer vacation period.
