Over 12,000 Posts Lying Vacant In Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: As many as 12,324 posts in the Odisha police are lying vacant in the State.

Replying to a query by Congress MLA from Jeypore Tara Prasad Bahinipati in the Odisha Assembly today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in a written said that as of now there are 70,936 sanctioned posts in the Odisha Police organisation for maintenance of law and order in the State. Out of this as of now 12,324 posts are lying vacant, Majhi added.

The Chief Minister said that required steps are being taken to fill the vacancies through new recruitment and promotion processes.
