Baripada: Forest department officials on Tuesday have seized 3.6 kg pangolin scales, an autorickshaw and mobile phones during a surprise raid at Kendumundi village under Karanjia forest division in Mayurbhanj district. Four persons have been arrested in this connection.
According to reports, a team consisting of staff of Similipal and Karanjia forest division led by Deputy Director, Similipal South Wildlife Division Samrat Gouda conducted a surprise raid at Kendumundi village and seized about 3.6 kg of pangolin scales.
The team also seized one autorickshaw and four mobile phones during the raid.
Four persons-Gouranga Mankadia, Manik Deogam, Matu Ho and Salai Sidu have been arrested by the team in this connection.
The accused persons have been forwarded to judicial custody at Thakurmunda.
Pangolins are most most trafficked wild animals in the world.
