Bhubaneswar: Paramilitary forces conducted a flag march in the Bhadrak district of Odisha on Monday morning to instil confidence among the local people and avoid any untoward incident during the upcoming Ram Navami festival in the region.
In the wake of the violence during a bike rally on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Balasore on Sunday afternoon the Bhadrak district police have made extensive preparations to conduct the Ram Navami festival in Bhadrak in peace and harmony.
The district administration held a meeting with the Shri Ram Navami Committee members this morning and it was followed by the flag march by a team of Odisha Police along with the BSF and CRPF jawans.
According to reports, the authorities have deployed 37 platoons of police force in Bhadrak city ahead of the Ram Navami festival, which will be headed by four additional SPs and 20 DSPs for the peaceful conduct of the Ram Navami procession on April 17. Bhadrak SP Varun Gunthapalli told the media that 29 Inspectors, 140 SIs and ASIs and 150 constables and home guards have been deployed at various places in the district to maintain law and order.
In addition, one company of BSF and one company of CRPF jawans will be in charge of peace and harmony in Bhadrak city. Drone cameras will be used to monitor the Ram Navami procession. At the same time, social media platforms are being monitored by a special cell to track fake and disruptive posts.
