Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today announced various measures ahead of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which will take place from January 8 to 10, not January 8.
At the programme, Police Commissioner Suresh Devadutta Singh inaugurated the Commissionerate Police mascot ‘HAPFY’, volunteer ‘Pravashi Mitra’, 24-hour helpline number “1965”, WhatsApp chatbot, and special tourist police.
On this occasion, Singh highlighted the steps being taken by the Police Commissionerate to observe programs like Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. He provided information on how overseas Indians coming to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from around the world can stay safe. The commissioner stated that the police have made arrangements for visitors to safely visit tourist spots in the city.
Commissioner Dr. Singh informed that paramilitary forces, along with 83 platoon police forces, have been deployed to strengthen security in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Additionally, extensive police force has been deployed to facilitate traffic.
In the program, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr. Umashankar Das gave introductory information and moderated the event. Many senior officers attended the program.
