Bhubaneswar: In a bid to reinvigorate the Congress organisation in Odisha, senior party leader Priyanka Gandhi is expected to visit the state in March to lead a major women-centric programme.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das announced on Thursday that the party is planning to organise women’s conventions across ten districts during Priyanka Gandhi’s proposed tour. A large women’s rally is also on the agenda, aimed at amplifying issues affecting women and promoting their empowerment.
Das said Priyanka Gandhi’s visit is expected to boost the morale of party workers and significantly strengthen Congress’ engagement with women across the state. According to him, the rally will focus on creating a platform for dialogue on women’s rights, social justice, and political participation.
Party leaders indicated that the proposed visit is part of a broader strategy to expand the Congress’ grassroots presence in Odisha and reinforce its organisational structure ahead of future political challenges.
The OPCC chief added that preparations are underway across districts to ensure wide participation and a strong reception for Priyanka Gandhi. He said her leadership resonates strongly with women and encourages greater involvement in democratic and political processes.
