Puri: The sacred Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra will be observed on June 29 (Tomorrow), with preparations underway in the holy city. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has released the detailed schedule of rituals for the annual festival, along with the timings for Rath Yatra, Bahuda Yatra, and other key ceremonies.
Snana Yatra, observed on the auspicious occasion of Jyestha Shukla Purnima, also known as Debasnana Purnima, is one of the most significant festivals in the Jagannath tradition. On this day, the sibling deities are ceremonially brought out to the Snana Mandap in a grand Pahandi procession and bathed with 108 pitchers of sacred water.
Following the ceremonial bath, the deities are believed to fall ill and subsequently enter the Anasara period, a ritual seclusion lasting nearly two weeks. During this time, the deities remain away from public view before reappearing for the world-famous Rath Yatra.
According to the schedule released by SJTA, the day-long rituals will begin early in the morning.
