Rain/Thundershowers Predicted Amid Hot & Humid Weather Conditions Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: While Southwest Monsoon has advanced further in the southern states and Maharashtra during the last 24 hours, most regions of Odisha are likely to experience hot and humid conditions for another two days, predicted the regional center of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar in its mid-day bulletin on Wednesday.

However, several places in the state are likely to experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers till monsoon sets in on Saturday.

Weather Forecast and Warning For Odisha Districts:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely at a few places in south Odisha, north coastal

Odisha and one or two places over the districts of north interior Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Koraput and Malkangiri.

Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely in a few places over the districts of south Odisha and one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 17.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely at many places in south Odisha and one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by with gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Kalahandi.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 18.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in many places in Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely in many places in Odisha.
