Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Nowcast Warning for several districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rain with light thunderstorm, lightning and wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to continue over the next 3 hours.
The districts under the warning are Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Puri, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack including Cuttack city, Dhenkanal, Khordha including Bhubaneswar city, Rayagada, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Ganjam.
The IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather for any worsening conditions and plan accordingly to keep themselves safe.
The warning comes amid ongoing rainfall in the state due to a well-marked low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
