Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government plans to develop the Rasgovindpur airstrip in Mayurbhanj district into a full-fledged airport, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena informed the Assembly on Thursday.
Replying to a question, Jena said the Centre has already approved the proposal for upgrading the Rasgovindpur airstrip into an airport.
He said the state government has also made a budgetary provision in the current fiscal for the development and upgradation of the airstrip.
The minister added that the Odisha government is in touch with the Centre over the project and is taking necessary steps for its implementation.
