Bhubaneswar: Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada on Saturday sentenced retired Junior Clerk of Special Planning Authority (SPA) Pratap Chandra Keshi to 5 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 after convicting him for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to his known sources of income.
In default of payment of fine Keshi has to undergo further RI for 5 months more for the offence under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988.
Keshi was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence following his conviction and sentencing. His disproportionate assets worth Rs 19,03,909 were also confiscated by the State.
According to an official press release, Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Keshi following his conviction.
