Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur police conducted a raid on a gambling den in Bareipali, netting 11 individuals involved in the illicit activity.
As per reports, the raid, carried out on Monday, was based on specific intelligence about the illegal operation.
Acting on the tip-off, a team from Bareipali police station swooped down on the location and apprehended the gamblers. The police seized Rs 52,600 in cash, 52 playing cards, and 11 mobile phones from their possession during the raid. Besides, four vehicles were also impounded from the scene, indicating a well-organized operation.
The detained individuals are being interrogated and the seized items are being documented as part of the investigation.
