Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested seven youths, all students, who had allegedly misbehaved with the army officer and his fiancée on the road on September 15 night.
They were arrested after a primary investigation. They had allegedly misbehaved with the army officer and his woman friend on the night of September 15 at the Sundarpur Golei Chhak under Chandaka Police limits.
“They are being forwarded to court. We have collected a video clip and an audio clip. These are being examined. One vehicle and 11 mobile phones have been seized from the accused persons,” said Additional DCP Krushna Prasad Das.
Chandaka Police registered a case based on the complaint by Bharatpur PS IIC, he added.
The arrest was made seven days after the incident.
The seven youths, who are mostly students of an engineering college, feigned innocence. “We have not even touched the lady. Rather, her major friend attacked us in an inebriated condition. We are being falsely implicated,” said an accused while being forwarded to court.
