Bhubaneswar: The severe cyclonic storm Dana has weakened into a depression over north Odisha, according to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has predicted that the system will move westwards across north Odisha and gradually weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 12 hours. The Doppler weather radar at Paradip continues to monitor the system closely.
“It is likely to move nearly westwards across north Odisha and weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area during the next 12 hours”, read the weather bulletin.
Cyclone Dana’s impact has led to widespread heavy rainfall across various parts of Odisha. As the cyclone has transformed into a depression, the rainfall activity is expected to continue.
Under the influence of cyclone Dana, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack too witnessed rainfall activity since Friday.
