Bhubaneswar: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Odisha’s electoral roll, aimed at making the voter list more transparent and error-free, has witnessed an encouraging response from electors across the state, with over 41.6 lakh voters receiving enumeration forms within the first four days of the exercise.

According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), enumeration forms had been distributed to approximately 41.60 lakh voters across the state by 7 PM on Tuesday. The campaign, which entered its fourth day, has been progressing rapidly with active participation from voters.

To ensure comprehensive coverage and the successful completion of the revision process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are carrying out extensive door-to-door visits, including in remote and tribal-dominated regions. A total of 45,255 BLOs have been deployed statewide for the special campaign.

As part of the exercise, BLOs are visiting households to collect voter information and distribute two pre-printed copies of the Enumeration Form (Annexure-III) to each elector. One completed copy is collected by the BLO, while the second copy, signed by the BLO, is returned to the voter as an acknowledgement receipt for future reference.

The Election Commission has also enabled voters to download the enumeration form from its official website, fill it out, and upload it independently if they prefer.

Officials clarified that voters are not required to submit any additional documents while filling out the enumeration form.

The revision process is also receiving support from 33,226 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by various political parties, who are assisting BLOs in field-level implementation and coordination.

Election authorities described the progress of the campaign as satisfactory and reiterated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll revision process.
