Bhubaneswar: A state-level woman athlete was found hanging in a private hostel near the old office of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday morning.
The deceased athlete Sarojini Sundara was a resident of Jagadalapur under the Delanga police in Puri district.
She was a state-level boxing and Kho Kho player. For the last few years, she has been residing in Bhubaneswar. Sarojini was working in a bike showroom.
Bargarh Police, meanwhile, began a probe into it after seizing the body and sending it to Capital Hospital for post-mortem.
Also, police have started interrogating her friends to ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide.
“Her call details are being checked to get a clue on her death”, said an investigating officer.
Upon being informed, Sarojini’s family members have reached Bhubaneswar. They claimed that Sarojini had no enmity with anyone.
