Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds are likely to hit 13 districts of Odisha on Sunday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow warning for these areas.
According to the IMD’s midday weather bulletin issued on Saturday, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds, with wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph, are very likely to occur at one or two places in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada districts on September 6.
The weather department has advised people in the affected districts to remain alert and take necessary precautions during thunderstorm and lightning activity.
