Bhubaneswar: Moderate thunderstorm with lightning, wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of districts of Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Cuttack within the next three hours, said a nowcast warning issued by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 4.25 PM today. The IMD has issued an ‘Orange’ warning for these districts.
Similarly, light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of districts of Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Boudh, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Nuapada, Angul and Dhenkanal within next three hours the nowcast warning said. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for these districts.
The weather agency has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
