Thunderstorms & Light Rain Likely In Twin Cities In Next 3 Hours: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for five districts including twin cities of Odisha, forecasting light rain with thunderstorm in the next three hours.

According to the nowcast warning issued at 2:40 pm today, thunderstorms with light rain is very likely to occur in Nayagarh, Khurda including Bhubaneswar city, Cuttack including Cuttack city, Balasore, Ganjam and Mayurbhanj districts.

The IMD has advised people in these districts to keep a watch on weather conditions and plan accordingly for their safety. Residents have been urged to avoid open areas, trees and electrical poles during thunderstorm activity.

The warning comes amid ongoing heavy rainfall and flood situation in several parts of the state due to a persistent low-pressure system
