Bhubaneswar: Train connectivity to several regions in Odisha will be disrupted over the next three days due to safety-related modernisation work at the Kharagpur Yard in West Bengal. The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced train cancellations and short terminations between September 13 and 15, 2025.
As part of the scheduled works, Train No. 18021/18022 Kharagpur–Khurda Road–Kharagpur Express will remain cancelled in both directions on September 13 and 14.
Further, Train No. 68442 Puri–Jaleswar MEMU will be short-terminated at Baleswar from September 13 to 15, instead of running up to Jaleswar. The same rake will be re-positioned to operate as Train No. 68441 Jaleswar–Puri MEMU from Jaleswar station.
These operational changes are being undertaken to facilitate yard remodelling and infrastructure upgrades aimed at enhancing long-term safety and efficiency of train operations through Kharagpur.
ECoR has advised passengers to check real-time updates and train schedules before planning their journey.
Passengers travelling from or to key stations in Odisha, including Khurda Road, Puri, Balasore, and Jaleswar, are likely to be affected.
