Sundargarh: A tusker died of electrocution near Nuagaon village under Balani panchayat in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday night.
Forest department staff recovered the carcass of the elephant and sent it for autopsy.
According to reports, the tusker ventured out of its forest habitat near Nuagaon last night in search of food and came in contact with a live wire and was electrocuted to death.
Locals spotted the carcass of the tusker this morning and informed the Forest department. The Forest department personnel reached the spot on Tuesday morning and recovered the carcass.
