Mayurbhanj: Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) personnel on Friday arrested two poachers from the southern division of the Similipal Tiger Conservation Project. The two arrested have been identified as Antyarami Naik (37), a native of Pathakhani village under Kaptipada police limits, and Phillip Naik (35), of Khadikasho village under Udala police limits.
Two country-made guns, 86 iron balls, 500 grams of explosive powder, gunpowder, and other hunting equipment were seized from them. In this regard, two separate cases have been filed against the accused, Samrat Gowda, Deputy Director of the Southern Division of the Similipal Tiger Conservation Project, informed.
According to reports, Antyarthami Naik was nabbed by the Forest Department officials while they were patrolling in the Podadiha range of the South Division of Similipal Tiger Conservation Project.
Similarly, Phillip Naik was captured while STPF personnel were patrolling in the Genbil Range.
