Nayagarh: Panic gripped Gangadiha village under Banigoccha police station limits in Nayagarh district after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered with her throat slit in a forested area near the village on Thursday.
According to reports, the grim discovery was made around 11 AM by villagers who noticed the woman lying in a pool of blood on a forest path. Unable to identify her, the villagers alerted the local sarpanch, who immediately informed the Banigoccha police station about the incident.
A police team, accompanied by a scientific unit and sniffer dogs, arrived at the scene and initiated a thorough investigation. Upon closer inspection, the police confirmed that the woman’s throat had been slashed with a sharp weapon causing fatal blood loss.
The police have registered a case and are working to identify the victim and establish the circumstances leading to her death.
The shocking incident has left the local community in fear, with residents demanding swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
