Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Sanjay Kumar Kispatta, Executive Engineer of Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd, Bhubaneswar, currently on deputation to OCCL, Balangir at the Lower Suktel Project, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Kispatta will be produced today before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. The arrest follows searches conducted at properties linked to the officer. During the raids, Vigilance officials allegedly detected assets far exceeding his legitimate income.
According to Vigilance, the disproportionate assets include two multi-storey buildings including a palatial commercial building of 8000 sq ft with 23 rooms equipped with 3-star hotel-like facilities, 9 high-value plots, bank deposits worth Rs 46.09 lakh, cash of Rs 1.16 lakh, gold weighing 325.562 grams and silver weighing 1.121 kg and two four-wheelers.
Vigilance said Kispatta failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the accumulation of these assets. In connection with the case, Koraput Vigilance PS has registered Case No. 15/2026 against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Further investigation is underway.
