Jharsuguda: Odisha Vigilance has summoned Jharsuguda Municipality Chairman Rani Hati in connection with an inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of Rs 40 lakh of government money by officials of the civic body during the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25.
According to a notice issued by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance, Jharsuguda Unit, Hati has been asked to appear before the investigating officer at the Vigilance Unit office in Jharsuguda on September 8 at 10.30 am.
The notice was issued in connection with Rourkela Vigilance File No. 02 dated February 5, 2026, concerning the alleged misappropriation of government funds by officials of Jharsuguda Municipality.
The Vigilance officer has directed the municipality chairman to attend the inquiry on the scheduled date and time, describing the matter as urgent.
