Bhubaneswar: Vigilance raids on properties linked to Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, Additional Civil Supplies Officer of Kendrapara, have uncovered a staggering array of assets amassed through alleged corrupt means.
Searches conducted by the Vigilance department have so far revealed that Mohapatra owns two buildings in prime locations, including a double-storeyed building in Lingipur, Bhubaneswar, and another in Kalyani Nagar in Cuttack’s Madhupatna. Additionally, he has two plots of land, one at Lingipur, Bhubaneswar, and another at Kalyani Nagar in Cuttack.
The searches have also uncovered mutual fund deposits worth approximately Rs. 1 crore, cash totalling Rs. 1.21 lakh, one four-wheeler (Maruti Swift), and two two-wheelers. Furthermore, a bank locker operated in the name of his spouse at SBI Main Branch, Cuttack, is yet to be opened, indicating that more assets may be uncovered as the searches continue.
Notably, Vigilance sleuths on Friday launched simultaneous searches at five locations in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Kendrapara in connection with the alleged possession of disproportionate assets by Mohapatra.
The searches are being led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), one Assistant Commandant, five Inspectors, and other supporting staff, based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge of Vigilance, Cuttack.
