In August, 2021, ganja weighing around 10 quintals was seized in the area and Parida was arrested in this case. His assets include two buildings, two vehicles, landed property and Bank deposits, the STF stated. He also has similar cases against him in Surat, Gujarat, the STF stated.
“The valuation of other properties is in progress. It is also suspected that he might have acquired such properties in Gujarat too out of drug business. Odisha police is in touch with Gujarat police in this regard,” the STF stated.
Steps are being taken by the agency to take up the matter with Competent Authority, Kolkota as per provision of Section 68 (F) NDPS Act, 1985 for forfeiture of the properties earned out of contraband drugs business.
