Puri: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday held a meeting with senior officials of the district administration over land-related issued pertaining to the Jagannath Temple and other areas in the pilgrim town.
Important issues such as unauthorised constructions in the prohibited sweet water zone of Puri were discussed at the meeting. In accordance with the orders of Orissa High Court on a petition in this matter, surveys will be held at Srikshetra Colony, PKRIT Colony and other areas, said sources.
The Chief Secretary directed the Executive Officer of Puri Municipality to carry out this survey work at the earliest. Similarly, on matters related to land of Shree Jagannath Temple, a draft committee will be formed under the supervision of the Law Department, sources added.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to take immediate steps for addressing the aforementioned matters ensuring an early resolution. Collector Samarth Verma, Sub-Collector Bhabatarana Sahu, Municipality EO, Saroj Kumar Swain, Development Administrator Ajay Kumar Jena and Deputy Administrator (Revenue), Subrat Kumar Behera were present at the meeting.
