Bhubaneswar: The Cyber Police under Bhubaneswar UPD has arrested a youth on charges of blackmailing a girl with her objectionable pictures. The accused was arrested from Chhatrapur in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the duo was involved in a love affair and had reportedly exchanged personal photos and videos. In course of time, their relationship was opposed by family, which irked the youth, the complaint filed by the girl’s family stated.
Unable to stand the opposition, he went on to post the private and objectionable pictures on social media and was blackmailing the girl, the complaint further stated.
The Cyber Police of Bhubaneswar UPD investigated the case and traced the youth at Chatrapur. He has been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC and IT Act and forwarded to the court.
