Bhubaneswar: On the basis of a tip-off on illegal transportation of Australian Hard Coke from Dhamara, the STF on Tuesday conducted raids at multiple locations in Bhadrak and seized more than 28 tonnes of coke.
The miscreants were siphoning the coke in 12-wheeler trucks which were escorted by SUVs. Raids were conducted at Tibalpur and Charampa under Bhadrak Rural police limits which led to the arrest of one Parsuram Mahalik.
The accused has been booked under Sections 379, 411, 413 and 120(B) of the IPC and Section 21 of MMDR Act. A case has been registered by Bhadrak Rural police in this connection. Mahalik is a native of Goudunipokhari under Bansada police limits.
