Kendrapara: A 21-year-old youth drowned in the flood water at Mandapada village under Pattamundei police limits here today.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Sahu of Mandapada village. He was going to the market for purchasing rice when the tragedy occured.
On the way to the market, his bicycle slipped into a nullah connecting with Bramhani river, following which he drowned.
A search was launched to trace him, and after an hour Sahu was spotted near a bush. He was declared dead at Pattamundei hospital.
Police have registered a case and sent the body for autopsy.
