Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has elected presidents for its 18 organizational units.
Notable appointments include Uma Samantraya as Puri district president, Susanta Mohapatra as Bargarh district president, and Jagannath Swain as Bhadrak district president. Other key appointments include former Speaker Pradeep Amat in Boudh and MLA Romanch Ranjan Biswal in Deogarh. These appointments are expected to strengthen the party’s organizational structure.
In these 18 organisational districts, single nominations were filed. These candidates were declared winner uncontested, said Pratap Deb, State Returning Officer, BJD.
“We will move to the second phase of the organisational elections from tomorrow, which is for State Council members followed by the State Executive Members. Once the Executive committee is finalised, the election for the State president will be expedited,” said Pratap Kesari Deb, State Returning Officer, BJD.
