Bhubaneswar: The ongoing inventory of the sacred Ratna Bhandar (treasure chamber) at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is being carried out with complete transparency and accuracy, according to the temple administration.
Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), provided this update today. He stated that the inventory process is progressing smoothly without any hurdles.
“The inventory is being carried out with complete transparency and accuracy,” Dr. Padhee said. “By the grace of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, there has been no problem so far.”
He further informed that the census of the Lord’s gems and valuables in the Ratna Bhandar (inner treasury) and the external (outer) treasury has been completed with full transparency.“
The census of the current treasury and external treasury has been completed with transparency,” the Chief Administrator added. “Completely accurate reconciliation has been done with the 1978 list.”
Expressing gratitude, Dr. Padhee saluted the dedicated individuals involved in the historic 1978 inventory: “Therefore, I salute all the great people who were included in the 1978 census.”
He emphasized that till date, there has been no problem in the census and reconciliation process.
The inventory exercise, which began after a gap of nearly 48 years, involves meticulous documentation, videography, photography, and advanced techniques like 3D mapping to ensure utmost transparency and proper record-keeping of the temple’s priceless gold, silver ornaments, and other valuables.
