Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable display of talent and perseverance, three students have jointly topped the CHSE Plus II Science examinations by securing 598 marks out of 600.

Most importantly, despite hailing from humble backgrounds — one being the daughter of a sweetmaker and anotherthe son of a farmer — two among the three state toppers have proved that determination and hard work can overcome all barriers. In a remarkable feat, three students have jointly topped the CHSE Plus II Science examinations by securing 598 marks out of 600.

Madhumita Sahu, a student of Shakti Higher Secondary School in Cuttack, has emerged as one of the state toppers. Hailing from Dhenkanal, Madhumita left her home and family to pursue better education in Cuttack. Recalling her journey, she emotionally shared that her parents’ struggles gave her the courage to move forward. “I studied hard with full confidence in my abilities. I will now pursue Plus III in Arts with Economics Honours and later prepare for the Civil Services by clearing the UPSC,” said a visibly moved Madhumita hose father runs a sweet shop.

She added that this success is not her final destination and she wants to ensure her parents’ hardships are not in vain.

Hailing from a humble agricultural family, Parthasarathi Khilar’s success is a shining example that background and financial limitations do not matter when one is determined and hardworking. Studying at E-Tech Residential Higher Secondary School, Parthasarathi followed a rigorous daily routine of 10 to 12 hours of disciplined study and consistent revision. Despite coming from a modest background, his unwavering focus and dedication helped him overcome all challenges.

“I never imagined I would become the state topper. I am grateful to my parents, teachers, and family for their constant support,” he said. He aspires to become a teacher in the future.

Sanjana Mahanta, a student of Adyant Higher Secondary School in Khordha, also achieved the perfect score of 598 marks. Originally from Mayurbhanj district’s Panchabhaya area under Morada block, Sanjana scored a perfect 100 in most subjects except 99 in English and Mathematics. She credited her parents, Bhabani Shankar Mahanta and Nibedita Mahanta, along with her teachers for her success. The school principal and staff extended warm congratulations and wished her a bright future.

All three toppers have proved that with dedication, consistency, and strong willpower, even the toughest goals can be achieved. Their success highlights the power of hard work and the importance of a supportive environment in shaping young minds. The CHSE results, declared yesterday, have brought immense pride to their families, schools, and districts.
