Bhubaneswar: Celebrated sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik once again captured the spirit of devotion by creating a beautiful sand sculpture on Puri Beach to mark the auspicious occasion of Snana Purnima, the sacred bathing festival of Lord Jagannath.
The sand sculpture prominently features Lord Jagannath along with the divine message “Jai Jagannath”, paying tribute to one of the most important festivals in the Jagannath tradition.
Snana Purnima, observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Jyeshtha, marks the ceremonial bathing of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Sudarshan in public view.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudarsan Pattnaik said, “Devotees from across the world are arriving in Puri to witness Lord Jagannath’s Snana Yatra. Through this sand art, I want to spread the message of devotion, unity, and the timeless glory of Mahaprabhu Jagannath.”
Every year, Pattnaik uses his exceptional talent to create sand sculptures on Puri Beach during major festivals, drawing thousands of tourists and devotees who admire his creations.
His latest artwork for Snana Purnima has already become a major attraction on the beach, beautifully reflecting the festive and spiritual fervour surrounding the grand bathing ceremony of the deities.
