Cuttack: In a timely operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Cuttack rescued 59 minor boys from Bihar who were being brought to Odisha allegedly for admission into a madrasa.

As per reports, the boys, all appearing to be minors, were intercepted by alert RPF personnel at Platform No. 4 of Cuttack Railway Station on Tuesday evening while deboarding Train No. 12821 Dhauli Express (Howrah-Puri) around 6:30 PM. Childline was immediately informed .During preliminary inquiry, the boys revealed that they belonged to poor families from villages in Araria district, Bihar.

They had travelled from Araria to Katihar by local train and then to Howrah, where they were met by a person identified as Maulana Mahamd Akhlad. The group then boarded the Dhauli Express to reach Cuttack. The children stated they were promised free religious education, accommodation, and food in a madrasa in Odisha, as education in Bihar was expensive. However, when Maulana Mahamd Akhlad, a resident of Chandapur in Raghunathpur arrived at the station to receive the boys, he failed to produce any valid documents regarding their admission or guardianship.

Acting swiftly, the RPF informed the Government Railway Police (GRPS), local police, and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Cuttack. The boys were provided with food, water, and basic necessities by RPF staff and Childline personnel.

Later, a team from the Child Welfare Committee conducted a detailed inquiry. All 59 minor boys were formally rescued under Operation Nanhe  Faristey and handed over to the CWC for their care, protection, and rehabilitation.
