Assistant Collector’s Body Found In Pond In Rourkela

Rourkela: The body of a 35-year-old woman, identified as Sushmita Minz was found in a pond here on Tuesday. The woman was posted as Assistant Collector in Rourkela. Minz was a native of Ramabahal area in Rajgangpur.

According to reports, Minz went missing on September 15, following which her brother reported the matter to police. On September 17, she was traced to a hotel but refused to go with her mother and brother.

Around 3.15 pm on Tuesday, a security guard of a park spotted the body floating in the pond and informed the Plantsite police.

Fire Services personnel reached the spot and fished out the body from the pond. Her sandals and other belongings kept inside a plastic bag, were found on the foot steps of the water body.

Police have registered a case in this matter and initiated a probe. The police is examining the CCTV footage to ascertain the circumstances under which Minz reached the park.
