Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Monday arrested Sadananda Sahu, Settlement Amin at Agalpur Tahasil in Bolangir district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant for processing and issuance of ROR (land patta) in his favour in a mutation case registered by the complainant last year. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sahu.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two locations of Sahu from the disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection against Sahu at the Sambalpur Vigilance police station under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act (Amended), 2018. Further investigation is underway against accused Sahu and a detailed report is awaited.
