Commissionerate Police To Launch Drive Against Black Film, Sirens & Multi-Toned Horn In Cars

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police will launch a Special Drive against use of black film, sirens and multi-toned horn from February 10 onwards and the defaulters will be penalised heavily as per law.

According to the police, car windows must allow at least 70 per cent of visible light to pass through the front and rear windows and 50 per cent for the side windows. Car owners violating this norm will be penalised, the Commissionerate Police has warned.

In an appeal to the car owners and drivers, Suresh Dev Datta Singh, Commissioner of Police, has stated, “Through there is legal prohibition, many motorists are still using the tinted glass/black films, multi-toned horn and musical horns posing threat to the safety of public besides, creating situations of confusion of hiding something and also contributing in road accident.”

“Hence, it’s advised to please adhere to the above legal provisions and avoid using the tinted glass or black films, multi toned horn, etc, on their vehicles and voluntarily remove them before 10.02.2025 to avoid attracting penalties,” he added.
