Jeypore (Koraput): A goods train derailed on the KK railway line connecting Andhra-Odisha-Chhattisgarh late on Saturday night after colliding with a huge rock that fell on the railway tracks between Chimidipali and Tayada stations in Andhra. The impact of the collision derailed the engine of train number 41204, causing significant disruption to train services on the route.
Following the incident, the railway department suspended train movement on the affected line. Several passenger trains scheduled to operate on Sunday have been cancelled as the railway authorities work to clear the debris and carry out necessary repairs.
Specifically, the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train (58501) has been cancelled, while the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger train (58502) has been halted and directed to return to Kirandul from Koraput.
The Visakhapatnam Railway Division is overseeing the rescue and repair operations, with efforts underway to restore normal train services as soon as possible. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates before planning their journey.
