Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed a sweltering heat wave today, with several places recording 40 degrees C temperature of the season. Sambalpur emerged as the hottest city, with a sizzling temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.
Hirakud followed closely, recording a temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius, while Jharsuguda recorded 41.6 degrees Celsius. Rourkela recorded a temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius, while the State capital, Bhubaneswar, recorded 38.6 degrees Celsius, stated .
Other places in the state also experienced high temperatures, with Keonjhar and Chandbali recording 38 degrees Celsius each, and Balasore recording 37.2 degrees Celsius.
The heat wave conditions are expected to continue in the state. People are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe and hydrated.
