Bhubaneswar: The final Lok Adalat of the current year was successfully organized across all judicial and revenue court premises in Khordha district under the aegis of the Khordha District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhubaneswar.
During the day-long proceedings, a total of 1,25,961 cases were taken up, out of which 98,374 cases were amicably settled. As a result of these settlements, an amount of ₹23 crore 26 lakh 5,480 was realized through revenue collections, fines, and compromise deeds, marking a significant achievement in dispute resolution and revenue recovery.
The Lok Adalat covered a wide range of matters, including criminal compoundable cases, cheque bounce cases, money recovery disputes, motor vehicle accident claim cases, labour disputes, public utility service cases, matrimonial disputes, land acquisition matters, revenue cases, civil suits, bank loan default cases, telephone and electricity bill disputes, as well as pre-litigation cases.
District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Biranchi Narayan Mohanty, expressed his appreciation to all judicial officers, revenue officials, regional bank managers, and officers from the telecom and insurance sectors for their coordinated efforts in ensuring the success of the Lok Adalat. He also congratulated the legal professionals who actively participated in the proceedings and emphasized the need for advanced planning and preparation for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled in 2026.
Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Salomi Sahoo, was also present on the occasion. She extended her gratitude to the court staff and other officials for their valuable cooperation, which contributed to the smooth conduct and overall success of the Lok Adalat.
