Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Varsha Priyadarshini on Thursday joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) at a programme organised at the Sankha Bhawan.
The actor arrived at the BJD headquarters this morning and was inducted into the party by Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra.
Apart from being a popular actor in the Odia film industry, Varsha has also been involved in various social activities through her NGO Sammanita.
Speaking on the occasion, Varsha said she decided to officially join the BJD after being inspired by ‘clean’ personality of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Varsha’s joining the ruling BJD assumes significance because her former husband and actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty quit the Conch party and joined the BJP a few days ago.
