Bhubaneswar: A software engineer couple from Bhubaneswar and Karnataka were left stranded hundreds of kilometers away from their wedding reception venue due to IndiGo’s nationwide flight disruption. Medha Kshirsagar and Sangam Das, both working in Bengaluru, had booked flights to attend their reception in Hubballi, but repeated delays and eventual cancellations foiled their plans.
The couple’s reception was scheduled for December 3 at Gujarat Bhavan in Hubballi, but they were stuck in Bhubaneswar. Undeterred, they joined the celebration virtually, appearing on a large screen to greet their guests and express regret for their absence.
The bride’s father, Anil Kumar Ksheerasagar, expressed disappointment and frustration over the flight disruptions, saying the family had no choice but to improvise. “We quickly arranged a screen at the venue and asked the couple to join online,” he said. Despite the distance, the couple’s love and determination brought joy to their special day.
