Bhubaneswar: Allegations of a question paper leak have surfaced at Utkal University after a Plus III Second Semester Commerce paper was allegedly circulated on WhatsApp ahead of the examination.
The Plus III Second Semester examination began on September 12 and is being conducted across around 300 affiliated colleges, with a large number of students appearing. The exam will conclude on September 24.
Allegations surfaced on Friday that one of the Commerce question papers was leaked on social media before the scheduled examination on Thursday (September 17).Taking cognizance of the matter, the university has lodged a complaint at Sahid Nagar Police Station to trace the source of the leak. The varsity said it would also approach the Cyber Police Station if necessary.
Controller of Examinations, Utkal University, Hrushikesh Nayak said, “On the allegation of the question paper leak of Commerce paper on social media, we have lodged a complaint to find out the source of the leak. We have not received any information regarding the leak from any of the colleges conducting the examination across the State. We took immediate action against the person who tried to tarnish the image of the university with his malafide intention.”
Police have initiated an investigation into the allegations.
