Bhubaneswar: A youth was arrested on Monday night for allegedly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl in Sundargarh district.
The incident took place on Sunday (June 7), when the minor girl had gone to a nearby mango orchard under the jurisdiction of Kinjirkela police station.
According to reports, the accused abducted the girl from the orchard and raped her. Following the incident, the victim’s family lodged a complaint at Kinjirkela police station.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police apprehended the accused on Monday night.
Further investigation is underway.
