Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure a peaceful Durga puja celebration, the Commissionerate Police along with two companies of BSF conducted a flag march in the Laxmisagar and Jharpara areas of Bhubaneswar, on Monday.

The flag march, in which central para-military forces also participated, was led by the Bhubaneswar Deputy Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra.

According to sources, as the countdown for Durga puja begins, police and military forces took to the streets at Jharpada and Laxmisagar in a flag march aimed at showcasing their preparedness to meet any eventuality to ensure the safety and security of people during the festivities.

Besides, Commissionerate Police have intensified patrolling as part of its measures to keep unscrupulous elements at bay.

DCP Mishra, meanwhile, also warned criminals of stern action.
