Bhubaneswar: Enthusiasm and fervour marked the celebrations of Vishwakarma Puja, the worship of the architect of the universe, across the state today. The festival, which honours Lord Vishwakarma, the creator of the world, was celebrated with great pomp and splendour in various institutions, art galleries, and industrial areas.
In the port city Paradip, about 30 small pandals were decked up for the occasion, with various departments of the port, including labour unions and associations, organizing puja with great pleasure. An attractive tower was erected, and cultural programs will be held every evening.
In Angul Nalco Nagar, 19 puja pandals were set up to worship the divine architect, with sculptures based on current events and mythological themes. The celebrations were equally vibrant in the capital city of Bhubaneswar, with various places of worship and industrial areas like Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur, Steel City Rourkela, Jharsuguda, and Cuttack decked up for the occasion.
The worship of Lord Vishwakarma is believed to bring prosperity and increase business. The festival is a testament to the state’s rich cultural heritage and its reverence for the divine architect.
